Shire clear-outs have a particular flavour

Nowhere else in Sydney do we shift as much water-related gear. Between Cronulla, Woolooware, Burraneer and Sylvania Waters, half the garages hold a boat, a trailer, a set of oars and thirty years of fishing equipment. When the boat finally goes, the gear around it goes too — covers, seats, eskies, rod holders, ropes, tubes and usually a chest freezer that has been running in the garage since the nineties.

The rest is classic suburban Shire: a brick-and-tile home on a decent block with a shed at the back, an outdoor setting the salt air has eaten, a trampoline the kids outgrew, and a spare room used as storage for a decade. Because most homes have driveway access, our crews can usually load straight from the property, which keeps the job quick and the price sharp.

Sutherland Shire Council and where we fit

Sutherland Shire Council provides household clean-up collections on request, with limits on volume and a defined list of accepted items, plus community recycling drop-off points for problem waste. It is a good free option for a modest domestic load when you are not in a hurry. Where it stops being practical is a full garage and shed clear-out, a pre-sale tidy-up before an open home, a strata block in Miranda or Kirrawee, or anything generated by a business — commercial waste is not part of the council service.

We book a date you choose, quote a fixed price for the whole load before we start, and take the pile away in one visit rather than leaving it on the verge. Metal, whitegoods, mattresses, timber and e-waste are separated afterwards and sent through licensed NSW facilities so recoverable material stays out of landfill. What we can't take includes asbestos, gas bottles, paints, oils, tyres and building rubble — those need specialist handling, and we will point you in the right direction if you have them.
